5-Fold Ministry Center
Our Founders
Being called by the Lord Pastor Charles L. King II and his wife Emma L. King conducted the first service for the emerging Saint Matthew Church of God In Christ, on Sunday, October 15, 1995, in the basement of the Portage Avenue 1st Source Bank. The church started with eleven charter members.
This newly formed ministry worshipped in the basement of the bank for eighteen months. In July of 1997, we moved to 141 Haney Street and shared Saint Luke Church of God In Christ with Pastor Fred Preston and his congregation. Once again, we were graced to move on October 5, 1997, to our third location worshiping at the Berean Seventh Day Adventist Church, 601 West Colfax Street. The Lord allowed us to be acquainted with a gracious pastor and a lovely congregation.
On April 12, 1998, Resurrection Sunday the Lord blessed us to worship in our first church building at 1523 West Washington Street, the former church of Pastor E.A. McNealy. In August of 1999, The Lord blessed Saint Matthew Church of God In Christ, to obtain the deed to the West Washington Street property. This brought closure to an eighteen-month mortgage. In July 2001 Saint Matthew Church found favor with a man receiving more than three acres of land. On this land will stand the Greater St. Matthew Church, Life Changing Ministry, Inc. In June of 2001, we sold the West Washington Street property. On August 4, 2001, we returned to the Berean Seventh Day Adventist Church to worship until the completion of our new facility.
Pastor Charles L. King II was blessed to have thirteen ministers assisting him in ministry. They included Associate Pastor Charles L. King III, Associate Pastor Archie Shurn, Elder John Wilson, Elder George Matthews, Minister William Crawford, Minister Joyce Shurn, Minister Dior Turner, Minister Staci Wilson, Minister Sarah Softly, Minister Deborah Hunt, Minister Sherry Smith, Elect Lady Emma L. King, and Minister Jamita Maddox.
In February of 2003, we had our first service in the newly erected Greater St. Matthew Church. We had a joyful and exuberant service in our partially completed facility. On April 12, 2003, the Lord blessed Greater St. Matthew Church to complete the construction of the new edifice. The official service was conducted by Bishop Milton L. Hall of Indiana Northern District Church of God In Christ Inc.
In August of 2004, the Lord confirmed to Pastor Charles L. King II through several reputable ministries his elevation to the office of the Apostle. The final confirmation came from Pastor King’s former pastor, Apostle Eugene Ragin’s. According to Acts 1:23-26 and Ephesians 4:11-12 we believe God is still perfecting the church and authorizing Apostles.
In December of 2004, the Lord placed it on the heart of Apostle Charles L. King II to pursue an independent fellowship. Apostle King actively works with regional and national churches throughout the United States seeking perfection of the body of Christ at large.
After several years of operating as the Senior Pastor and an active Apostle, God instructed Apostle King to appoint a pastor. On January 1, 2013, Associate Pastor Charles L. King III, was installed as the Lead Pastor of Greater St. Matthew Church, A Life Changing Ministry Inc., succeeding Apostle King II as the Lead Pastor. Pastor Charles L. King III is a spirit lead innovative pastor poised to minister for years to come. Under his ministry, the church is taking on new life and new families as we continue to promote the Kingdom of God in this generation.

WHAT WE BELIEVE AND TEACH
That the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God.
In the triune nature of God: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and need salvation.
Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men.
The infilling of the Holy Spirit is an experience after salvation, and it is the will of God that all be filled.
Healing is provided in the redemptive Work of Christ and is available to every believer.
The church consists of all those who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.
In the personal, visible, imminent return of Jesus Christ.
In water baptism and the observance of the Lord's Supper.
